Anti-Bullying

U.S. Secretary of Education states "A school where children don't feel safe is a school where children struggle to learn. It is a school where kids drop out, tune out, and get depressed." Recent studies done by Cornell show that more students in high school are dropping out due to bullying are at an all time high. One out of every ten students drop out due to repeated bullying. The statistics on bullying in the U.S. are alarming.
  • 15% of students that are absent is out of fear of being bullied
  • 282,000 students are physically attacked in secondary schools each month
  • 1 in 12 students have attempted suicide due to bullying
Parents can give advice to their children on ways to handle a bully. But unfortunately it doesn't always stop the harassment. Online public school is available for kindergarten through twelfth grade. Families can create the environment in which their children learn. If you are a concerned parent who is worried about the long terms affect of bullying online public school would be a great option for your student.
